Description
This is a second-hand William Powell ‘Perdix’ an Italian made (by B. Rizzini) sideplated over & under 20ga with 30″ field multi choke barrels. This is a very pretty gun to look at – the sideplate action is very elegant, the game-scene and scroll engraving is distinct but attractive with it, the woodwork on this particular gun is nicely figured and well-proportioned coming with a rounded pistol grip which is comfortable to hold and use.
This is a gun that would be a great choice for driven game shooting both locally and further afield, the weight of the 30″ barrels has enough weight to be steady for longer range/high pheasants but the gun handles lively enough to deal comfortably with local driven partridges. Being multi choke means that the chokes can be balanced to suit any given shooting situation. The barrels are 3″ ‘fleur-de-lys’ proofed making it suitable for steel shot too.
This gun is second hand but remains in decent overall condition. The previous owner used the gun for a bit of game shooting on the peg but hasn’t used it particularly heavily meaning the action is tight, the woodwork is nicely figured with a few odd marks here and there, the barrels are clean inside and out.
There is a plastic case and a set of 5 chokes plus a key with the gun.
Part exchange welcome.
