Description
This is a second hand Gallyon & Sons of Cambridge Boxlock Ejector 12 bore with 28” barrels choked 1/4 & 3/4 – a perfect choice for a mixture of driven partridge and pheasant shooting locally. The balance of this gun is excellent, the handling is reasonably lively but there is enough barrel weight to steady the swing on longer shots. This gun would be capable of comfortably firing 28 & 30gr cartridges (including standard steel loads if the choke barrel was eased out to under 1/2) in 2 1/2″ cases. Moving forwards there will be a range of suitable non-lead cartridge options for the gun.
The overall condition is good – the attractive scroll engraved action is tight and retains a decent amount of the original colour hardening. The stock is well figured and in very tidy condition with just the odd small mark showing. The barrels are clean inside and out.
