Description
This is a second hand AYA No.2 Sidelock Ejector 12 bore with 28” barrels choked at 1/4 & 1/2 – a perfect choice for a mixture of driven partridge and pheasant shooting locally. The balance of this gun is excellent, the handling is reasonably lively but there is enough barrel weight to steady the swing on longer shots. This gun would be capable of comfortably firing 30 and 32gr cartridges (including standard steel loads) in 2 3/4″ cases making it suitable for taller game too. Moving forwards there will be a range of suitable non-lead cartridge options for the gun.
The overall condition is good – the attractive scroll engraved action is tight and retains a reasonable amount of the original colour hardening. The stock is nicely figured, in tidy condition with just the odd small mark showing, it is finished with a solid heel plate. The barrels are clean inside and out.
