Description
This is a second hand Winchester 101XTR Lightweight Game 12ga field gun with 28″ barrels fixed at 1/4 & 1/2 chokes. It would make an ideal choice for shooting local driven or walked up game – at 7lb 1oz it would be comfortable to carry in the field but has enough weight to soak up some recoil on busier days on the peg. It would also be a perfect choice for simulated clays being very fast handling.
The action is game-scene and scroll engraved, the woodwork is reasonably well figured and has decent proportions finishing with a solid recoil pad. The barrels are clean inside and out. The action shows signs of use in that it opens and closes freely – this was a feature of the Winchester range of guns because they were very well jointed straight out of the factory. The woodwork has a few age related marks but nothing major.
