Description
This is a second hand AYA No.2 Roundbody 12 bore with 28” barrels choked at 1/4 & 1/2 – a perfect choice for a mixture of driven partridge and pheasant shooting locally or further afield. The balance of this gun is excellent, the handling is reasonably lively but there is enough barrel weight to steady the swing on longer shots. This gun would be capable of comfortably firing 32gr cartridges in 2 3/4″ cases (including certain steel cartridges moving forwards) making it suitable for taller game too.
The overall condition is good – the attractive scroll engraved round action is tight and retains much of the original colour hardening, the stock is nicely figured remaining in tidy condition with just the odd small mark showing – the LOP is 15 1/2″ of wood this hasn’t been extended. The barrels are clean internally, externally the blueing has a thin patch near the forend but that’s a cosmetic issue that could be corrected with a full re-blue in the future.
